MINDFUL SELF-COMPASSION YOGA is somatic (embodied) practice for befriending the mind, body, heart, and emotions.
This awareness-based, compassion-based practice allows for deep stretching performed with kind, nurturing awareness. It involves mental focus placed upon feeling the breath and muscles and actively bringing in SOFTEN, SOOTH, ALLOW concepts from the Mindful Self-Compassion Course. It trains the brain (neuroplasticity) to be actively kind and compassionate with ourselves.
The slow compassionate stretches stimulate deep connective tissues, the muscles, the bone, and the fascia throughout the body. It increases the circulation in the joints and improves flexibility.
